Founded in 1738, Little Britain Township
sits in the Southern End of Lancaster
County.  Originally settled by immigrants
of Scotch-Irish descent as a farming
community, agriculture continues to be
the primary occupation of todays township
residents.

Inventor Robert Fulton was born within the
original boundaries of the township in
1765.  In 1844 the township boundaries
were changed & Fulton Township, which
now houses the Robert Fulton birthplace,
was created.

Little Britain Township is home to the
Lancaster County Conservancy's
Alexander King Nature Preserve, a 24
acre part of the
Susquehanna Gateway
Heritage Area.
